St. Thomas Aquinas College is a private four-year liberal arts college in Rockland County, New York, that occupies a 60 acres (24 ha) campus. At 125 Route 340 in Sparkill, New York, the college is named after the medieval philosopher and theologian Thomas Aquinas. It was founded by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, whose headquarters are in the town. The college has grown in its 65+ years to offer 35 majors across three schools--Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education.

St. Thomas Aquinas partners with Hudson Link, an organization that provides a full college degree through local universities to incarcerated individuals. In 1998, as part of the get-tough-on-crime campaign, state and federal funding for college programs inside prison was stopped. Understanding the positive effects of education in the transformation and rehabilitation of incarcerated people, "Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison" runs pre-college and college degree programs at Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg.

Athletics

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans field 14 varsity NCAA Division II East Coast Conference athletic teams. These include Track and Field, Cross Country, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Golf, and Tennis. Club sports are also available at the college, and these include bowling, cheer and dance team, volleyball, and ice hockey. The Spartans have a cross-campus rivalry with Dominican College since they are geographically a mile away from each other.

The 1989 direct-to-video film "Fright House" used the campus as a filming site.

The campus was also used as a filming location for the 2003 Katie Holmes film Pieces of April. External shots of Marion Hall, an educational building that also houses the school's main business office and several professors offices, is used as the grandmother's nursing home.
