History
Established 1995 in Geneva, the IFGP (Institut de Formation en Gestion du Patrimoine) marks the origin of Geneva Business School (GBS). Today IFGP is owned by GBS and continues to provide instruction to local Swiss private bankers.
Since 2012, GBS has opened campuses in Spain (Barcelona), Kazakhstan (Astana & Almaty), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) , Bahrain(Manama)and China (Chengdu).

Academic programs
Geneva Business School operates a dual diploma program with the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. KBTU ranked in the top 100 universities in the QS University Rankings: EECA 2015 for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in 2015.
Accreditation status
State accreditation
According to EduQua, the label of certification which bears its name is "intended for all training institutions active in the fields of continuing education and basic training of adults, as well as the continuing education of unemployed persons." The validity of EduQua certification, which is the responsibility of independent certification bodies, was granted to the Geneva Business School on 3 March 2015, and is valid until 2 March 2018.
According to the IACBE, "The Geneva Business School has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE)."

Many GBS campuses have accreditation for programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) and are listed in the IACBE members accredited list.

Notable faculty
- Dominique Xardel was Editor in Chief of the Harvard L'Expansion, the French version of the Harvard Business Review. As of 2005, he was Associate Dean for International Affairs at ESSEC. He holds a Doctorate degree from the University of Paris IX-Dauphine. Xardel worked for businesses such as Unilever and Time Inc and he has taught at Geneva Business School in Switzerland. Xardel has authored various books on marketing including The Direct Selling Revolution: Understanding the Growth of the Amway Corporation (1993), a "comprehensive look at the Amway Corporation."
- Yahia H. Zoubir, PhD, is professor of international relations and international management and director of research in geopolitics at Euromed Management, Marseille School of Management, France. His published works include Praeger's "International Dimensions of the Western Sahara Conflict". Books: Doing Business in Emerging Europe, Global Security Watch-The Maghreb: Algeria, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia
- Jaime de Melo is responsible for research at Geneva Business School. Previously professor at the University of Geneva and a Senior Fellow at FERDI (Fondation pour les études et recherches dans le développement international), he joined the faculty of the University of Geneva in 1993. At the World Bank he was Division Chief of the Trade Policy division from 1991 to 1993 with various positions held in the former Research Department between 1980 and 1993. He is a CEPR fellow, an EU-GDN fellow and a non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution. De Melo taught from 2000 to 2006 at the World Trade Institute to which he was also a founding member and board member from 2000 to 2006. From 2005 to 2010 he was editor-in-chief of the World Bank Economic Review. "His research focuses on trade policies, on trade and the environment, and on the links between regionalism and multilateralism.".. "Jaime holds a B.A in Political Science from the Maxwell School, Syracuse University, 1968, an M.A. in international relations from the School of Advanced International Studies and a Phd in economics from the Johns Hopkins University in 1975."
